This round ocean picture stone cabochon was cut from a historical 1980s collection sourced by Northern Beard Rock and Gem. Originally collected in the Midway region of British Columbia, the stone was cut and polished in my Saskatoon lapidary studio. It features a high-quality polish on both the front and back to accommodate versatile jewelry settings.
Ocean picture stone is treasured for its painterly, layered patterning or for sections with vivid blue chalcedony. This piece is a vivid example of the blue colours that can come from this occurrence.
