This cabochon captures a piece of the Canadian prairies in stone.
This cabochon was cut from a rough agate self-collected at Fife Lake, Saskatchewan and was finished in my lapidary studio in Saskatoon. It features a warm cream and white chalcedony-opally base that is dramatically lined with a vivid orange fortification banding. This orange banding divides a cluster of white spherulitic inclusions and adds wonderful colour and texture. A small natural geode surface feature adds to its wild, collected from-the-earth personality. Polished front and back this cabochon is suitable for wire wrap, custom made airloom jewelry creations or for collection.
