These two beautiful Canadian amethyst cabochons are cut from rough sourced from the La Manche Mine in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The material was originally found by local prospector Josh March as a damaged amethyst point and has since been cut and polished here in Canada, in my Saskatoon lapidary studio.
This set includes two cabochons:
One round 9.30 CT, high-dome cabochon measuring 12.5 × 7.25 mm, with magenta and blue tones depending on the lighting type. This cabochon also has a few inclusions of goethite, hematite, and a natural fracture.
One round 3.55 CT, high-dome cabochon measuring 8.15 x 6.30 mm, that is bright and glassy with excellent clarity.
Together they total 12.85 carats. Both cabochons have a polished back. These cabochons have a calm, minimalist look that suits wire wrapping, bezel settings, talismans, or collectors who appreciate natural Canadian amethyst.
