This beautiful Canadian amethyst cabochon was cut from rough sourced from the La Manche Mine, in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The material was originally discovered by local prospector Josh March as a damaged amethyst point, then it was cut and polished in my Saskatoon lapidary studio.
This high-dome, flat-back cabochon measures 10.25 × 6.60 mm, weighs 5.45 ct, and displays magenta-to-blue undertones depending on the lighting. The stone contains a few natural inclusions, including goethite and limonite.
