This raw corundum micro specimen features a striking wine coloured sapphire crystal. The host rock is brown-beige, radiating amphibole crystals that add visual appeal and contrast with a unique luster. Under ultraviolet light, it glows a vivid soft pink, reflecting its chromium-bearing composition. 

Collected from a high-alpine occurrence in the Revelstoke region of British Columbia by the late prospector Herb Hyder, this unique piece highlights exceptional Canadian gem geochemistry.
