This small, beautiful spessartine garnet specimen was self-collected from the Revelstoke region of British Columbia.
This material comes from an high alpine occurrence originally discovered by the late Canadian prospector Herb Hyder, who was a great friend and inspiration to me. The claim is now owned by Rock Rush, and the material was gathered with permission.
This specimen features a lustrous cognac orange garnet crystal exposed in a quartz-rich matrix. The combination of vivid orange garnet, contrasting dark minerals and pale quartz makes for an attractive natural mineral specimen.
