This small, beautiful spessartine garnet specimen was self-collected from the Revelstoke region of British Columbia.
This material comes from an high alpine occurrence originally discovered by the late Canadian prospector Herb Hyder, who was a great friend and inspiration to me. The claim is now owned by Rock Rush, and the material was gathered with permission.
This specimen features several lustrous cognac orange garnet crystal exposed on a darker matrix. The combination of vivid orange garnet on the contrasting dark matrix make for an attractive natural mineral specimen. There are many garnet faces on this specimen causing it to sparkle dramatically in the light.
